Hello, fellow travelers. I apologise for my absence, I have had many posts brewing in my head yet little time to jot them down, as it has been the long summer holidays for us Australians. Long holidays = entertaining small child all day every day for 6 weeks. I must confess I was seriously concerned I wouldn’t make it out the other side and yet… one week to go. I must credit my survival to my mum, dad and my gorgeous husband. Without those three I’m sure I would have gone tropo before Christmas.
Caspian decided to have a daily run of seizures last week, with two on Monday and two on Friday for good measure. David and I couldn’t work out why. I had tried three new pre-prepared foods last week, which we suspected. We had dropped Caspian’s Topamax a few weeks back, we suspected that.
It has been sooooo hot here. Last week Sydney managed to crack a record of 45.9 Celsius, which is out of this world hot (for the coast). Max, Caspian and I hid half the day in air-conditioning. Heat like that tends to dry a little body up. Poor old Caspian had become constipated. He still was going each day, but he lost a kilo of weight (2.2 pounds) after we gave him movocol. Yucky subject I know but it was a valuable lesson, so I thought I’d share. The constipation appears to have caused his seizure run. It is Tuesday night and 4 days since his last witnessed seizure, though I suspect one happened Sunday night. What is interesting is that Caspian has “bounced” better than normal which is so nice. I can only assume it is the magic diet protecting him from damage in a way. He has been interacting, chatting and playing so much for a little fellow that has been through the ringer.
He declared “I biting”- with a grin after he branded his brother…..
