This is for the other Aussies out there doing it keto-style, so forgive me my global friends! I have found some pre-packaged goodies I want to share with you. This post may be one of several I suspect.
Dips. Why? Flavour, pre- calculated, fast, versatile, vegetable loaded and yummy! There are dozens out there. These are the gluten and dairy free versions that are “safe” for Caspian. If you are into dairy, the dips could be a great way to expand the palate of your child, make eating fun and interesting again.
Carrot Morrocan by Pilpel. This brand seems to be everywhere in Sydney. This is a particularly yummy slightly spicy carrot dip. It has low carbohydrates and it works nicely with a dinner or snack with celery or lettuce. It would work well dolloped on a slice of tomato. It is 1% protein, 8.1% fat and 5.9% carbohydrates. Our whole family gobbles this one.
Beetroot Amond by Pilpel, this dip is 3.6 % protein, fat at 9.5% and carbs at 8.9%. Another great dip is the Beetroot and Almond by Olive Branch. Be aware that the Beetroot and Almond dip has sugar listed in its ingredients. Beetroot cooked is generally very sweet and yummy, which is why I like these dips ( and does Caspian too).
Smoked Salmon by Olive Branch; I really like this dip, for a dairy free one it is quite creamy in taste. The protein is 6.20 %, fat 53.60% and carbohydrates are 4.7%. If your child likes salmon this dip is a serious miracle due to its massive fat composition.
I am aware that many children may not normally eat these types of dips but they are so yummy I thought I would recommend them nonetheless.
These products are from Woolworths, Coles and Deli’s in the cosmopolitan Sydney. They appear to be broadly stocked in Sydney however that may not be the case outside of the city. It would be worth ringing around to see if stores stocks these ranges. Let me know how you go and happy hunting!
